Guarnaschelli is an Food Network Iron Chef America contestant who competed against Cat Cora for the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 in Iron Chef America. In the following years, she has appeared as an Iron Chef America judge and, in 2011, competed on The Next Iron Chef season four where she was the third place finisher. She also lost The Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast. In the fourth series of The Next Iron Chef, she began working as an assistant chef for Iron Chef Geoffrey Zakarian. In 2008 she became the host of Food Network's The Cooking Loft with Alex Guarnaschelli where she teaches an intimate group of students in the art of teaching them to reimagine classic recipes.
